George Clooney to Appear on ER Once Again
According to Entertainment Weekly, George Clooney will be heading back to his alma mater, ER, to film a cameo for the long-running show's final season, although the New York Daily News reported that NBC has yet to confirm the rumor. It would be a payback of sorts for the show, which catapulted Clooney from a bit player to the huge star he is today by casting him as an original member of the hit drama.
This news is surprising, since according to Celebuzz.com, ER producer John Wells said that he didn't think Clooney would return. NBC has added three extra episodes to the season, hoping to get a few more big name alumni from the show's past 15 years, says the New York Daily News. One example is Juliana Marguiles, who played Clooney's love interest. Entertainment Tonight reports that she is definitely scheduled to return.
Clooney's character, Dr. Doug Ross, last appeared on ER in May 2000, after leaving the show as a regular in February 1999.
