If you were a girl on Sunday night, you probably noticed one of Hollywood’s finest hunks sadly didn’t make an appearance. And if you were part of the People’s Sexiest Man protest, you were probably extremely sad. But George Clooney’s explanation for why Ryan Gosling wasn’t at the awards ceremony is even more depressing.
Entertainment Wise reported The Descendants Best Actor winner told reporters backstage that Gosling couldn’t make it to the star-studded ceremony because he “is in Thailand or something. And you know what you do in Thailand."
"He's working, I think, in Thailand. He wrote me a nice letter, an email, this morning. You know, he's gotta work, he's gotta earn a living, he's a struggling actor,” the 50-year-old joked.
Uh oh, is the Human Rights Organization going to get on Clooney’s back for that joke?
According to People, Clooney’s 31-year-old Ides of March co-star, who was also nominated for a Best Actor award, is indeed not in the U.S., but he’s not looking to make some fast cash off his good looks.
While Gosling’s rep only told the magazine that he is “working out of the country,” People speculates Eva Mendes’s lover is in Bangkok shooting mixed martial arts movie Only God Forgives.
If only he could have taken a quick break to fly to L.A. and grace us with his beautifulness.
