George Clooney will host Haiti Telethon
As many people in Hollywood respond to the tragedy in Haiti, George Clooney pledges to do his part as well. While at a private event for his film Up in the Air last night, Clooney mentioned his plans to host a telethon with the proceeds going directly to earthquake aid.
The telethon will air on Friday January 22nd in an effort to support victims of the recent 7.0 earthquake in Haiti. It will air on MTV, ABC, NBC, HBO, and CNN from 8-10 p.m.
Clooney has been attempting to get more stars on board as well. Things are still in the works as to what charities and organizations will be involved and which musicians will be performing, but it is thought that details should be worked out in the next few days.
Other celebrities are also doing their part in the relief. Musician Wyclef Jean has already raised over $1 million via Twitter.
