George Clooney's "ER" Appearance Boosts Show's Ratings

Actor George Clooney makes an appearance on the show that made him a star.

According to Reuters, the 47-year-old reprised his role as Dr. Doug Ross on Thursday's episode of ER. He was joined by other former cast members, including Julianna Marguiles, Noah Wyle, and Eriq La Salle.

Since Clooney's long-awaited guest appearance, the hospital drama had its best viewer ratings since Feb 2007. The episode saw a 23 percent increase in audience compared to last week's show.

Currently, NBC has been lagging in the bottom place among the four major TV networks, but stated that since Clooney's guest appearance on ER, around 10.7 million Americans had watched the show.

ER is NBC's second longest-running drama since its debut in 1994. This year is the shows 15th and final season and the final episode of ER will air Thursday night, April 2.
