George Takei pokes fun at the Kardashians

Actor George Takei, famous for his role as Sulu on Star Trek, made a humorous jab at the Kardashians online.

On his Facebook page, Takei posted a picture made by a fan with the headline “Keeping up with the Cardassians.” Underneath it, he wrote that he would watch that series. The Cardassians are an alien species in Star Trek, although they never appeared in the original series. Takei isn’t the first to compare the reality show family to the alien species due to their similar-sounding names.

Takei is known for commenting on issues from gay issues to presidential candidates. He recently tweeted, “Kim Kardashian files for divorce after 72 days. Another example of how same-sex marriage is destroying the sanctity of the very institution.”

Takei married his partner Brad Altman in 2008 in Los Angeles. His Trek co-stars Walter Koenig and Nichelle Nichols served as best man and matron of honor, respectively.
