The Germs Return for a Short Summer Tour
Punk legends, the Germs, are returning for a new United States club tour.
The 16-city tour starts at the Distillery in Sacramento, Calif. on June 12. It ends at the Red Seven in Austin, Texas on July 11.
The Germs reunited in 2006, and replaced their original singer, Darby Crash (Jan Paul Beahm), with actor Shane West.
The band formed during the late 1970s in the Los Angeles punk rock scene. The original members are Smear, Doom, Bolles and Crash. They disbanded in 1980 after Crash's suicide in 1980.
Since then, the remaining band members have moved on to other musical projects. Smear joined Nirvana in the '90s, and Bolles played in several other L.A. based bands like 45 Grave and Nervous Gender.
The Germs were honored with a film about them, called Crash and the Germs. The film was released in 2007, and showed the history of the band. After the movie, West was incorporated in the band, and LiveDaily.com reports, "The three surviving Germs reactivated the band with West in the lead-singer slot, first performing at the 2006 Vans Warped Tour, and later launching a full club tour in 2007."
