He's a bit hesitant though.

Comedian Ricky Gervais says that he is reluctant to accept the offer from the Academy Awards to host the upcoming Oscars, because of lack of freedom that he would have when presenting.
The 47-year-old British actor/comedian said that his agent in the United States has been approached about the job, in addition to many other names that they are considering.
He said that he would be "scared" to host because, "I don't think I'd get the freedom I needed," according to a recent interview with BBC News.
"If it was a fun night and they said you could ad-lib," said Gervais, "I'd do it because I really enjoy that."
