Get Ready for "A Colbert Christmas"

Comedy Central has ordered a one-hour special.

What could be better than spending a half-hour of your holiday season with Comedy Central personality Stephen Colbert?

Well, how about spending an hour watching "A Colbert Christmas: The Greatest Gift of All." On top of all that, the Christmas special will be a musical.

At this time, the list of people who have signed on to appear is quite impressive. Musical performances featured will be from Colbert himself, Elvis Costello, Feist, Toby Keith, John Legend, Willie Nelson and Jon Stewart.

The special will air on Comedy Central on November 23 at 9 p.m. ET.

The plot of the show will follow Colbert as he goes to New York City to meet up with Costello. But he can't get out of his cabin in upstate New York to actually go to NYC because he gets snowed in. From there, he gets help from some of his celebrity friends, who play music in order to get Colbert through his depression about not being able to get to New York to meet up with Costello.

If you're busy that night, the DVD will be available two days later, Nov. 25, the same day the official holiday shopping season begins.

Portions of the proceeds from the show (advertising, DVD sales, etc.) will go to Feeding America, which feeds thousands across the United States by providing food banks.
