Gibson may, repeat MAY appear in "Mad Max 4: Fury Road"

While there has been much speculation about "Mad Max 4: Fury Road" and Mel Gibson's potential involvement, there one hard fact to support the rumor that Gibson may indeed play a part in the movie. His production company, Icon Entertainment, will be co-producing the movie, and this had lead to speculation that Gibson could be directly involved.

Gibson has stated before in the Australian Herald Sun that he will not appear in the movie, the rumor mill is running at full speed.

There have been only two confirmed actors for the film, Charlize Theron and Tom Hardy are two lead actors, and the original director of the franchise, George Miller, has also signed on to make this sequel.

Rumors are nothing if not buzz, they shape the perceptions of what's to come, and it is probably no accident that these rumors are circulating. How many sci-fi sequels have their been that just utterly failed because a lack of the essence that made them great in the first place? The "Starship Troopers" franchise and just about any video game movie that has ever had a sequel are some a great examples. The buzz that Gibson may appear in the movie is like the buzz that was created around "Star Trek" when it was posited that William Shatner would have a cameo. It gave the movie publicity, and Leonard Nimoy's cameo gave the movie the necessary old school cred.
