Giuliani to End Pursuit for Presidency

Once considered the Republican front-runner, Rudy Giuliani is said to be dropping out of the race after coming in a distant third in the Florida Republican primary.

ABC News reports that instead of participating in the California debate on Wednesday, Giuliani will be endorsing Senator John McCain, the winner of the Florida primary.

According to Reuters, Giuliani addressed his supporters by referring to his campaign in the past tense and dedicated it to the victims of Sept. 11, 2001.

John McCain told his own supporters "I want to thank my dear friend, Rudy Giuliani, who invested his heart and soul in this primary, and who conducted himself with all the qualities of the exceptional American leader he truly is. Thank you, for all you have added to this race."

The New York Times reports with 97 percent of the precincts reported in Florida, John McCain had 36 percent of the vote, Mitt Romney had 31 percent and Rudy Giuliani had 15 percent.
