Not only is "Glee" racking up viewership for FOX, but songs from the show are becoming more and more popular to download online.

According to the Boston Herald online, songs from the first four episodes of the show have been downloaded over 1.1 million times and last week ten songs were in the top 200 songs on iTunes. The show's music spans all types of genres, from country to hip hop to classic rock to showtunes.

The show itself airs on FOX Wednesdays at 9 p.m., and according to a Nielson company statistic from the New York Times, it has an audience of around 7.8 million viewers. The success of the show has lead to the rising sales of its catchy tunes.

Popular shows like "American Idol," "Grey's Anatomy," and even advertisements like iPod commercials have been helping music sales with popular songs played during the episodes, which are readily available online to download. "Glee: The Music, Volume 1" will be the first in a series of albums with the show's music, and will be released on Nov. 3.
