Gloria Steinem talks Linda Lovelace biopic

By Alec Campagna,

With Sarah Jessica Parker set to portray Gloria Steinem in the upcoming Linda Lovelace biopic, Lovelace, Steinem has come forward with her opinion on the film.

Perez Hilton reports Steinem stating, “I’m grateful that she wants to do it so much, because of the subject matter — because she understands how important sex trafficking and forced prostitution is. And Linda Marciano’s story can happen to anyone. And that's my role, I believe, in the movie to say that.”

She added, “I'm very honored that she wanted to do it. All I was thinking about was Linda. It didn’t dawn on me that she was playing me. But she said she’d been watching interviews. I think that Sex and the City was one of the few pop cultural admissions that friendship among women is crucial and that has really continuing appeal.”

Lovelace should be released at some point this year. It stars James Franco, Sharon Stone, Peter Sarsgaard, and Chloë Sevigny. Amanda Seyfried will play Linda Lovelace.

The film has had many cast changes. Troubled star Lindsay Lohan was initially supposed to play Lovelace. Additionally, before Sarah Jessica Parker landed the role of Gloria Steinem, Demi Moore was the actress up for the role. She backed out due to health issues.
