The Good Wife: You Can't Go Home Again Recap

Single mom and wronged wife, Alicia Florrick must make do with what she has. Peter, the husband, calls the house still trying to reconnect with the family. Grace and Zach (the children) miss their school, and friends. Alicia is late for a staff meeting about logging countless hours in the office when a visitor, thought to be her son, interrupts it.

But it's not her son, it's a former neighbor from Highland Park, Kenny Chatham. He's running from the cops following a marijuana pick up from another teen's above garage apartment that is now labeled a break-in.

Alicia drives Kenny home as Kenny reminds her his parents dropped her friendship when the scandal popped up. At the parent's house cops arrest Kenny for felony murder, learning that during the pickup a security guard died from a blow to the head. Kenny professes his innocence.

Kenny's dad hires a high-powered lawyer but Alicia stands her ground and stays as Kenny's attorney. With the personal ties to the family she asks for an associate to take First Chair. Thus enters her rival Cary, who has never tried a case.

Kenny's pal and partner Brian has already taken a plea and fingered him for the murder. Kenny is denied bail and looks at prison. The friend over the garage, Spencer, agrees to testify in Kenny's defense until Spencer's father puts an end to that.

Alicia sneaks to the crime scene one night around about the time the murder took place and is soaked by the sprinklers but it's enough to win the case. Cary shows off his negotiation skills and gets Kenny no jail time, 1,000 hours community service and drug counseling.

Kenny's mom wants to reconnect with Alicia as old friends but Alicia doesn't pretend and tells her, "You're not going to call, and we're not going to have lunch. And that's okay. It really is. Take care."

Alicia goes home and has a moment with Grace in Grace's new bedroom that hints that she may have started being happy in their new lives.
