Gosselin Dogs Are Gosselins No More
Jon Gosselin, the male half of the most famous divorced couple in the media right now, has decided to send the Gosselin family's two German Shepherd puppies, Shoka and Nala, back to the original breeder as a result of the divorce.
Gosselin claims that his estranged wife, Kate Gosselin, is to blame. As part of the divorce agreement, the Gosselin children live in their Pennsylvania home full time, whereas Jon and Kate spend their time at the house separately from each other. According to Jon Gosselin, the reason for the dogs' departure is that Kate fails to properly take care of the doggie duo while he is away from the house.
Earlier this year, Gosselin stirred up controversy when he revealed in an interview that his eight children mistreat the puppies, stating that "those kids beat them up, climb on them, pull their tails, bite at them, drag them around and everything you can imagine not to do to an animal, they've done." Gosselin later went on to do some damage control for his statements, due to the fact that his local Humane Society received reports and complaints from the public who claimed the family was practicing animal cruelty and neglecting their animals.
"We understand the responsibilities of being good dog owners. Whenever my kids are with Shoka and Nala, everyone is carefully supervised to ensure that no one - dog or child - is injured," said Gosselin.
