Gosselins Separate, TV Show on Hiatus
Jon and Kate Gosselin have split. As for their hit TLC series "Jon and Kate Plus 8," the show will be put on hiatus.
According to New York Times, both Gosselins confirmed on Monday's episode that they were separating after being married for 10 years. That day, a record-breaking 10.6 million viewers tuned in to hear it. The next day, TLC's president Eileen O'Neill said the network will put the television series on hold.
ABC News reports that Jon refused to take marriage counseling, which left Kate and the viewers appalled. Psychologists suggested that the two need divorce counseling to improve their relationship in the future while raising their eight children.
Contrary to TLC's action with the show's hiatus, Kate said on Monday's episode, "The show must go on." However, many fans believe that the show should not continue and the couple must put their kids first before pleasing the public, Associated Press reports.
