Grammys Safe from Strikers
After a press conference replaced the annual glitz and glamor of the Golden Globe Awards last week, rescheduling more awards into the dull format became a real possibility as the now near-three-month-long Writer's Guild of America strike continues. But, Tuesday, the WGA confirmed that they would not be picketing the annual Grammy awards, Reuters.com reported.
The music awards are scheduled for February 10 in Los Angeles at the Staples Center.
The Academy Awards, however, scheduled for February 24, are still being threatened by the WGA, according to E! Online.
Neil Portnow, Recording Academy president was glad the music show at least can go on. "We are gratified that the 50th Annual Grammy Awards will focus solely on the great music, artists and charitable work resulting from our show."
