The Green Hornet has a New Sidekick, Jay Chou

Seth Rogen's upcoming film has a new addition.

Seth Rogen has created a lot of interest for the upcoming "Green Hornet" movie in which he will star. The cast continues to fill out with the news that Jay Chou, a Taiwanese pop star, will play the Green Hornet's sidekick and valet Kato, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

Rogen showcased the sleek-black car that he will drive in the Columbia Pictures adaptation of the 1930's radio series at Comic Con last month.

The infamous Bruce Lee made the role of Kato famous in the subsequent 1960's television series. However, Steven Chow was the first selection for the part. He was also tapped to direct the latest super hero series, written by George W. Trendle and Fran Striker, to make it to the big screen; however, Michael Gondy replaced him earlier this year. Chow left the project all together last month.

Gondy and Rogen held a video audition with Chou last month and he was given the role. The 30-year-old singer said he will try to make the role of Kato his own and not mimic Bruce Lee's interpretation.

Rogen co-wrote the screenplay with Evan Goldberg, who wrote 2007's "Superbad," which also featured Rogen.
