Grey's Anatomy Drops Washington

Anti-gay slurs from TV doc prompt ABC to drop Washington.

Grey's Anatomy will be short one Isaiah Washington come next season. Washington's contract with the popular ABC show was not renewed for another season. This snub comes on the heels of reports that Washington used an anti-gay slur against co-star TR Knight on the set of the medical drama.Washington followed up this fiasco with a repeat performance at the Golden Globe Awards in January, which presented the show with the "Best Television Drama" award. The 43-year-old actor, until recently, played the part of Dr. Preston Burke on the show. Grey's Anatomy is entering its fourth season. His fellow stars on the show, including Katherine Heigl, expressed their opinions that the actor would be best off just keeping his mouth shut.Washington's thoughts on being let go were released through his publicist and referenced the movie "Network": "I'm mad as hell and I'm not going to take it anymore."
