Grey's Anatomy Fires Another Doctor

Brooke Smith, who fans of Grey's Anatomy might know as cardiac doctor Erica Hahn, has been dismissed from Seattle Grace hospital.

Smith's departure comes after Dr. Hahn had a lesbian romance with Dr. Callie Torres (played by longtime cast member Sara Ramirez).

EW.com broke the story, and said that Grey's creator Shonda Rhimes wasn't the reason for the firing, but rather ABC let her go. According to the site, "Suits 'had issues' with both the explicit direction [Callie and Erica's romance] was taking . . . and, more importantly, with the Hahn character in general."

EW says that Dr. Hahn will last be seen on this Thursday's episode of Grey's Anatomy. Hahn was not written off the show, but she will rather just get in her car at the end of her final episode.
