Grey's Loses A Member, but the Show Goes On

The premiere of the hit series offered its usual doses of sorrow, drama, and fun.

For everyone who did not have the time to watch the two-hour episode of "Grey's Anatomy's" season six premier, but still find yourself yearning for the juicy details of the characters chaotic lives, stay tuned for this recap.

Of course the number one question on everyone's mind was if it was going to be George or Izzie who dies. Sorry to all the 007 (George) fans, but it was the meek intern did not survive. At the beginning there was still some confusion because of the disfigured face, but Callie confirmed it for us all by spotting the tell-tale Texas shaped freckle.

There's the sad news, but the good news is that Izzie is still around, although she is not completely cured. Of course, she is devastated over the death of her fellow original intern buddy, as are Meredith, Alex, Callie, Bailey, and all the other hospital workers. Luckily, the show lightened up the mood a little by including some joking at George's funeral about the size of his package. A little distasteful, maybe, but they couldn't have us crying for the entire 120 minutes. In romance news, Cristina and Owen are still together, but not able to be intimate because Owen's therapist thinks he should refrain from having sex. Of course, this leaves Cristina irritable and more prone than ever to making cold and sarcastic comments. Meredith and Derik take their own approach to a grieving process, deciding to sleep together in every room of the house. This plan is slightly foiled when Alex and Izzie catch them in this uncompromising position. As for the patients, "Grey's" gave us two new entertaining medical cases a side for the main course of doctor drama. One girl had both arms cut off in a speedboat accident and another boy had unexplainable growing pains that worried his mother.

Overall, it was an emotionally charged episode peppered with fun, a typical mood for "Grey's". To really get in on the action, tune in to ABC at 9 p.m. on Thursdays.
