While watching TV, a man accidentally breaks a window with his Shake Weight. He leaves his house to retrieve it just before the house explodes behind him. Nick and Hank arrive at the house to investigate what has happened. The victim, Hap, is uninjured but reveals that his brother died in a similar accident a few months before. While Hap is at the station trying to find someone to take him in, a mysterious motorist arrives at the house and shifts through the rumble. They notice a broken pipe and a family photo. Nick is surprised that the man that comes to get Hap is actually Monroe. He tells Nick that he and Hap were in the same treatment program.
A conversation with the arson expert leads Nick to think that the explosion at Hap and his brother’s house may be due to an insurance policy. There is a bit of tension as Monroe shows Hap around his place but they settle on an arrangement and Hap stays with him. Nick shows up but before getting out of his car he is attacked by the motorist. She throws him to the ground and just before Nick can get his gun, Monroe and Hap stop them. The biker is Angelina, Hap’s sister.
Angelina reveals that she and Hap are Blutbaden like Monroe. She questions Monroe about Nick whose presence irritates her. Nick questions them about the policy assuming that they would have a reason to go after one another. In suspicion, Nick has Angelina’s plates run. We find out that Monroe and Angelina use to date but she insists that she came back to town to protect Hap. Soon, things get hot and heavy. The two of them head into the woods for a run, leaving Hap alone in the house. Meanwhile Nick goes to Angelina’s house to look around. He doesn’t get very far before he is knocked out.
The next morning, just after Monroe wakes up in the woods, Hap wakes up to a deliveryman. He is shot several times by a pig-like creature. Nick and Hank arrive to find Hap’s body just as Angelina and Monroe make it to the house. Hank notices the blood on her clothes and questions Angelina back at the station, however they find that it is just rabbit blood. Monroe warns Angelina with the information that Nick give him and tells her not to go home.
Angelina goes back home sniffing out traces of the intruder and notices it to be a pig. Hank informs Nick that Angelina’s finger prints match that of a murder scene a few years back. There were two brothers killed but one brother was not present, Lt. Orson the arson investigator. They believe that Orson sought revenge on Angelina because she murdered his brothers. Angelina vows to go after the Bauerschwien but is sincerely upset that Monroe will not join forces with her. At the station, Nick confronts Lt. Orson, who shifts, but he is not swayed and tells Nick to stay out of it.
Nick comes to Monroe for help but he announces that he will not be involved. He tells Nick that the feud between their families has been ongoing for ages and that Angelina will not stop. Monroe admits to his own anger at the situation and left Nick to deal with it on his own.
Angelina goes in search of Orson and attacks a cop trying to stop her. Orson breaks into Monroe’s place, pointing a gun at him and the fight is between him and Angelina. Nick sends Hank to Angelina’s after they find that it has been torched. Nick heads over to Orson’s. As he searches the house, he enters the bathroom to find a tub filled with a strange liquid. Orson rises from the liquid apologetic for alarming Nick. He asks that he and Nick join forces. The conversation is cut short as he sniffs out Angelina. She attacks him but after being butted by Nick she turns her attention to him. This gives Orson a chance to shoot her. Nick stops him too, allowing Angelina to get away.
