Grunberg's Son Better Now

Heroes star's sick son is better after surgery

Actor Greg Grunberg didn't feel like much of a hero when his son Jake, 12, started having epileptic seizures.

Jake always had epilepsy, but it got worse when he hit puberty. Grunberg told People, "Puberty screwed up levels of gauging whether his drugs were working or not. He was having more seizures."

But after having surgery recently that removed the part of his brain with the most epileptic activity, Jake only has one seizure every three weeks.

With that under control, Grunberg is focused on his website, TalkAboutIt.org, a site that raises awareness about epilepsy. "TalkAboutIt.org is a place where you can get information, and you don't feel alone," he said. Famous friends such as John Mayer and Jennifer Garner participate in the website as well.

As a third job, Grunberg plays Matt on the show "Heroes." He says that his character is getting a family, and he has to protect them. "It's a very personable and relatable storyline," he said.
