Guess What? Clay Aiken Is Gay

The singer has confirmed the rumors.

Clay Aiken has officially come out of the closet.

I know, I know, it's hard to believe.

The next cover of People has a picture of the singer holding his new baby, Parker Foster Aiken, with an accompanying headline that reads: "Yes, I'm Gay."

The cover also has a quote that says: "I cannot raise a child to lie or hide things."

The magazine has an interview with Aiken that discusses his homosexuality, but is not releasing the piece itself in the hope, one could argue, to sell actual copies of the magazine (something that's becoming increasingly harder to do).

Aiken first burst onto the scene in 2003, when he finished second to Ruben Studdard on American Idol. He never officially confirmed or denied his sexuality, but did talk to the Associated Press about it.

"I don't really feel like I have anybody to answer to but myself and God and the people I love," Aiken said two years ago.

With his announcement, Aiken seems to be answering to all three.
