Guests Walk Off 'Larry King Live' Set
When it’s live, anything can happen. Larry King is no stranger to guests walking off the set of his long-running CNN program Larry King Live, and this week it happened again.
The parents of Andrew Koenig, the Growing Pains star who has been missing for several weeks, were slated to appear on Wednesday night’s show but walked off minutes before there segment was set to begin, USA Today reports.
Baffled by their departure, USA Today reports King said to viewers:
"Folks, for some reason they left the studio in Vancouver. We checked them out. They were prepared to go on. I said hello. They said hello. We said we'll be on in two minutes. They said fine and they got up and left for reasons unknown."
Walter and Judy Koenig gave a press conference earlier that day, pleading for their son to contact them after he mysteriously disappeared.
USA Today reports tensions began when the Koenigs were pushed back to the final minutes of the show due to the SeaWorld fatality and Toyota hearings.
This upset the pair, their daughter explained to Zap2It, USA Today reports.
"[Larry King Live] kept pushing the segment back and my dad was growing frustrated," she says. "When he realized there were only four and a half minutes left, he didn't feel that was enough time to do my brother justice. So, he left.”
