H2 Sequel Has Release Date

Rob Zombie's sequel to his "Halloween" movie is due in August.

According to ShockTillYouDrop.com, H2 will have a release date of August 28, 2009. The movie will be released by the Weinstein Company's Dimension Films. Rob Zombie will return as director for the sequel to his new Halloween movie which was released August 31, 2007.

Rob Zombie was originally working on his new movie, Tyrannosaurus Rex, originally set for H2's current release date. But since Zombie is now doing H2 first, his Tyrannosaurus Rex project has been pushed back. Tyler Mane will return as the legendary horror film boogeyman, Michael Meyers, in H2 as well. Zombie ultimately decided to come back and direct H2 despite claims of not wanting to do another Halloween picture. This possibly stemmed from the extreme backlash from Halloween fans and film critics over Zombie's previous entry into the long-running horror film series. Zombie's 2007 Halloween movie grossed $58 million at the U.S. box office.

In reference to the Meyers in the new movie, Zombie says, "If you thought Michael was f*cked before, you ain't seen nothing yet! He is bigger, meaner and more psycho than Dr. Loomis ever thought possible."

H2 will begin from the very end of the first movie. Michael Meyers will continue his murderous rampage and pursuit of the heroine, Michael's younger sister, Laurie Strode. Zombie begins shooting on H2 in March 2009.
