Since Hailee Steinfeld starred in True Grit last year and earned herself an Oscar nomination, she hasn’t done many on-screen appearances. However, in two years she’ll be gracing the silver screen in a pretty big role.
Cinema Blend reported Steinfeld is in talks to star in the film adaptation of the1985 Orson Scott Card novel, Ender’s Game.
If she does come on board, the 14-year-old will be co-starring alongside Hugo's Asa Butterfield, who will play the film’s main character.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, Odd Lot Entertainment and Summit Entertainment are co-financing the film, which is tentatively scheduled to hit theaters March 2013.
X-Men Origins: Wolverine's Gavin Hood is writing and directing the film, while Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci are producing it.
Ender’s Game is a sci-fi thriller that revolves around a futuristic military academy that trains its students to fight aliens. Steinfeld will play the school’s only female student, who begins a relationship with Butterfield’s character.
Steinfeld will star in next year’s independent film adaption of Romeo and Juliet with Douglas Booth and she’ll have an even hotter co-star in 2013’s Rosaline with Dave Franco.
Did we mention she’s only 14 years old? Only in Hollywood can a youngster be so lucky.
