Half-Blood Prince Rumors Begin
With the seventh and final Potter book no longer something to look forward to, it's down to the movies to satisfy Potter fans' insatiable hunger for all things Potter. As such, it's not surprising that rumors are already abounding as to the casting for the next Potter film. Naomi Watts, Joseph Fiennes, and Stuart Townsend are all whispered to be slated for "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince." The Courier Mail has reported that Watts has signed to play Narcissa Malfoy, the mother of Harry Potter's nemesis at school, Draco Malfoy. Also in the Courier Mail are the rumors that Fiennes and Townsend are on board, though what roles they may or may not have are still unknown. The reports have all been denied by reps for the three stars, according to MTV.com.
The sixth installment in the Potter film franchise is currently in pre-production. A November 21, 2008, release is projected for the movie, with Steve Kloves adapting the screenplay and "Order of the Phoenix" director David Yates rumored to be the top contender for directing the sixth film.
