Halloween Returns to Theaters

Movie will be making return to big screen for first time in 28 years.

The original "Halloween" will return to movie theaters for the first time in 28 years, when 150 movie houses show the classic horror film on Oct. 30 and 31, at 8 p.m.

A digitally remastered, high definition version of the film will be shown along with a 20-minute featurette that will include original cast interviews and will focus on the film's role in pop culture.

"Halloween" tells the story of an escapee from a mental institution, Michael Myers, who goes on a murder-spree on Halloween. The film has spawned seven sequels and a new one is planned for release next year. "Halloween 9" will be written and directed by Rob Zombie.

"I take the original film very seriously, and I want to make it terrifying again," Zombie told the Associated Press.
