"Halo" Movie Apparently Not Dead

Nerds everywhere anticipated the “Halo” movie, and were completely crushed when it was found out that the movie was canned. The games themselves were like one giant movie, but still, the aspect of seeing the story unfold on the big screen was pretty exciting. Now, it looks like Peter Jackson will still be directing this film, in between the filming of the two parts of "The Hobbit" movie.

Halo is about humanity's losing battle with religious aliens who believe humanity is a scourge on the universe. A super soldier named Master Chief is on a ship that just barely escaped an attack on a planet called Reach, the biggest military installation the humans had left. They jump into hyperspace blind, and find themselves face to face with a giant ring world, complete with atmosphere, weather and vegetation.
