Hannah Montana Gives Reason For Deletion of her Twitter Account

Tween superstar states it wasn't her boyfriend's fault

Miley Cyrus has hit back at reports that Liam Hemsworth, her rumored Australian boyfriend, had anything to do with the recent deletion of her Twitter account, reports MTV.com

Doing so via her own personal website, Mileyworld.com, Cyrus states that the deleting of her account was a done to protect her personal life and space herself from the "negativity."

Writes Cyrus to her fans, "You all are the closest thing to my heart & it breaks my spirit to hear that some of you feel neglected since I deleted my twitter. It was a wonderful way to stay connected to you & I really felt like during that time we became very much like friends. Twitter is a beautiful thing if used for the right reason. I love my job so much that it is hard to believe sometimes that it is considered 'working.' But in the end it is still a business and I do need some sort of a 'normal' life as well."

She continues on in her post to exculpate Liam, saying "Liam is a wonderful friend and he did not try to make me delete my page, he just helped me realize how much time I was wasting on that site."

Miley's older brother, Trace, lead singer of popular alternative rock band Metro Station defended his sister's actions, in statements on celebuzz.com.

"I think she just wants to be more free in life. She said it to me the best that I could have heard anyone say it—she said she wants to live her life more than tweet about it, which completely makes sense to me."

Says Trace, "If she's spending all her time on the computer just talking about what she's doing, there's so much more life out there to live. When she said that to me, it really all made sense."

Despite the deletion of the Twitter account, the "Hannah Montana" superstar will continue to keep her fans posted of her goings on at Mileyworld.com
