Harris Extends Open Invitation to Spears for HIMYM

As far as the actor is concerned, Britney can return whenever she pleases.

Britney Spears has made two appearances on How I Met Your Mother, and as far as Neil Patrick Harris is concerned, she can return whenever she pleases.

"The door is open for her," the actor told People at an Academy screening of HIMYM at McGee's Bar & Grill in Manhattan (the bar which the show's main hangout is inspired by). "We would love (guest stars) who get in the show's world to stick around if they want to . . . but I don't know what the writers have planned."



Spears played Abby during her run on the show, a ditsy receptionist who dated Barney (Harris's character) in the second episode of the show, but was interested in Ted (Josh Radner's character). At the end of the last episode, Barney gave Abby the address to Ted's apartment, which very well could land Spears back on the show in the fourth season.
