Harrison Ford Starring in New J. J. Abrams Comedy

The "Indiana Jones" star will headline "Morning Glory."

Harrison Ford is set to star in Morning Glory, a J. J. Abrams-produced comedy for Paramount, Variety reports.

The 66-year-old actor will play the anchor of a failing morning TV show who just can't get along with his female co-anchor. While that latter role has yet to be filled, Rachel McAdams is in talks to play a news producer who must keep the anchors in line to save the show.

Roger Michell is set to direct the film. This will be his first movie since 2006's Venus. Aline Brosh McKenna, of The Devil Wears Prada and 27 Dresses fame, will provide the screenplay.

This will be relatively new territory for both Ford and Abrams, who are reuniting 17 years after Ford starred in the Abrams-penned and produced drama, Regarding Henry. Though Abrams boasts directing credits on a season three episode of The Office and produced a few comedies, such as The Pallbearer, in the '90s, he is best known as the sci-fi/action aficionado who brought us Cloverfield and Lost. Ford's few attempts at comedy have also been largely forgotten in favor of his roles as Indiana Jones and Han Solo.
