Harry Potter on iTunes

The Harry Potter collection is now available as audio books, after Rowling became a victim of piracy.

After finding out about bootleg copies of audio versions of JK Rowling's Harry Potter books, the author authorized the purchasing of them from Apple iTunes.

Rowling's six books, including the latest, "Half-Blood Prince," are available for downloading. As far as piracy is concerned, Rowling says, "Apart from the fact that they are illegal, the Potter content of these can bear very little resemblance to anything I've ever written."

Even though the illegal sales were deemed to have been relatively small, the author's work was a target for online piracy because she had only consented to paper copies and conventional audio releases.

The Potter collection can now be purchased as audio downloads, either individually or at a one-off price for the entire set.
