Heart attack not enough to stop Jerry Lewis

Singer Jerry Lewis suffered a minor heart attack on Sunday but is expected to fully recover.

Singer Jerry Lewis suffered a heart attack on Sunday during a flight from New York to San Diego, only days after he revealed in a press conference that he would, after a five-year break, be returning to performing.

The 80-year old performer was rushed to a hospital after feeling ill on the plane, and is said to be doing very well after a "very minor" heart attack and a slight spell of pneumonia. It was determined that he suffered a very minor heart attack and that he has a touch of pneumonia," Candi Cazau, Lewis' Las Vegas-based publicist told Reuters. She went on to say that Lewis was doing "extremely well."

The singer had to cancel his performances scheduled for July 13 through 16 at the New Orleans Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, but still plans to host his yearly Labor Day telethon for muscular dystrophy in September.
