Heather Locklear hospitalized after mixing alcohol and prescription drugs

Heather Locklear was rushed to the hospital Thursday afternoon after her sister called 911.

Law enforcement officers said the actress had taken a dangerous mix of alcohol and prescription drugs, TMZ reported.

"Patrol Units, Fire and Ambulances responded to an emergency medical call," Captain Mike Aranda, PIO of the Ventura County Sheriff's department, said to E! News.

"Once on scene, paramedics determined that she [Locklear] needed to be transported to a medical facility and, from my understanding, she was taken to Los Robles Hospital in Thousands Oaks. Once there, the medical staff of Los Robles was taking care of her medical situation," Aranda continued.

According to RadarOnline, a source said Locklear's sister Colleen called 911 when she became concerned for the star's mental state. "She is distraught over her relationship with Jack, it is on and off and it has upset her lately," the source said.

Locklear announced her engagement to boyfriend of four years Jack Wagner last summer. The pair split only a few months later in November.

This is not the first time 911 has responded to Locklear's health emergencies. In 2008 the Melrose actress caused a stir when her doctor called the emergency service. He was concerned Locklear had taken a lethal dose of prescription drugs. TMZ says that incident was described as a suicide attempt by the operator, but was in face a false alarm.
