Heather Locklear to Return to "Melrose Place?"

Heather Locklear is in talks with the CW regarding the reprisal of her role as Amanda Woodward on the new "Melrose Place."

Will Heather Locklear be reprising her role on the new CW series "Melrose Place?"

Although the CW has not released any official statements, People reported that Locklear is in talks with the CW regarding the reprisal of her role as power-advertising executive Amanda Woodward. Locklear appeared as a "special guest star" on the original "Melrose Place," which aired from 1992 to 1999.

Earlier this month, a "Melrose Place" executive told People that "the door is always open" for Locklear to return. Indeed, E! Online reported that the CW executives originally wanted Locklear "to appear in the pilot, but talks fell through earlier this year."

The cast of the new "Melrose Place" already includes many of the original cast members. If Locklear does reprise her role, she will be joining Thomas Calabro, Laura Leighton, Daphne Zuniga and Josie Bissett. The cast also includes some new faces, such as Ashlee Simpson-Wentz.

The new "Melrose Place" premieres Tuesday, Sept. 8 on the CW.
