Heather Locklear Sentenced to Probation
The near future for actress Heather Locklear won't be as bad as it could have been.
Heather Locklear was pulled over and arrested last September in California when another driver called authorities; reporting her as driving "erratically." She then was charged in November by the Santa Barbara California District Attorney's Office for driving under the influence of drugs and being under the influence of a controlled substance, as police found prescription grade drugs in her possession. After completing drug tests, no illegal substances were found in Locklear's system. The second charge was then dropped.
Today in court, as part of a plea bargain, Locklear's attorney, Blair Berk, pleaded "no contest" to reckless driving for the actress. Her DUI charges were then dismissed, as People magazine reported.
Instead of facing possible jail time for the DUI, Locklear will be on probation for three years. She also will have to pay fines of $700 and has to complete 12 hours of a driving safety course.
