Heather Mills McCartney refutes accusations of prostitution
Not only has Heather Mills McCartney had to deal with a very public divorce and battle over child-custody the past few weeks, but today the former Beatle's estranged wife had to refute claims that she was once a high-end call girl.
After being depicted unfavorably by the British media for years, Britain's "News of the World" published on Sunday a four-page layout of the former model that claims Mills McCartney was a prostitute in her twenties. The article used four quotations from people who claimed to have been involved with the situation, two of whom say they were former prostitutes.
Mills McCartney's lawyers issued a legal declaration today that included the statement: "The timing of the article is clearly designed to cause maximum hurt to Heather, her husband, and her family at this sensitive time."Mills McCartney has often faced tabloid slander in Britain, and in the past, the McCartneys posted a "Facts and Fiction" section on her Website, heathermillsmccartney.com, where the couple responded to many of the rumors surrounding Mills McCartney and their relationship.
