Heidi Montag Hopes to Record Christian Music

The MTV star also says she plans to do work in Africa.

Heidi Montag just released her first pop single, "Fashion," last week, but she's already thinking of entering a new genre. On Monday, the 21-year-old star of the MTV show, The Hills, told USA Today that she'd like to express her spiritual side through a Christian album some day.

"I have been the most religious person since I was 2 years old. I always felt this crazy connection to God," Montag told USA Today.

Known for her constant feuding with Hills costar Lauren Conrad and her on-again, off-again relationship with resident wise guy Spencer Pratt, Montag has parlayed her new fame into several off-screen ventures. In addition to her newly released single (Pratt is her manager), Montag's clothing line, Heidiwood, is sold at Kitson and Anchor Blue stores.

Montag, who tells USA Today that she identifies as a "kind of non-denominational Baptist," says that at one point she wanted to devote her life to God as a missionary in Africa. She's no longer planning on spending her whole life in Africa, but she said she will document her and Pratt's visit to the continent in August when they will "feed the children and build things."

The fourth season of The Hills premieres on August 18.
