Heidi Montag Says She's Not Addicted to Plastic Surgery
Heidi Montag may have undergone 10 cosmetic plastic surgeries at the same time, but she told Good Morning America that doesn’t translate into an addiction.
"If you're addicted to something, you have to do it all the time, not once every couple years, if even,” she told the morning program, ABC News reported.
Montag is referring to the time between her last visit under the knife – a nose job and breast implants three years ago – and this past November when she had 10 surgeries performed. Three blissful surgery-free years does not an addict make, at least not in Montag’s eyes.
Her plastic surgeon, Dr. Frank Ryan, doesn’t see what the big deal is.
"I disagree that it is that much plastic surgery," Ryan said. "These are little tweaks and things we did …"
These “little tweaks” included a triple-D breast enhancement, a brow lift, liposuction, and chin reduction among others, as People magazine initially reported.
Montag addressed how her actions could send the wrong message to teen girls, an issue the star is receiving widespread criticism for.
"I'm also in a different industry than they are," she said. "You know, I'm in a limelight. I'm in a different industry. And I have to do things that are going to make me happy at the end of the day …”
But will buying looks truly equate happiness?
