Heigl Will Return to Grey's Anatomy

Speculation was that when Katherine Heigl's character, Izzie, was left in limbo with brain cancer in last May's cliffhanger, it was pay back.

The prognosis for Heigl personally and for her character, Izzie, was not good after the star refused to submit her name for 2008 Emmy consideration.

Her diva behavior angered many and almost caused Izzie to be killed off. "I did not feel that I was given the material this season to warrant an Emmy nomination," Heigl said, according to the L.A. Times.

Heigl has put her name in for Emmy consideration this year but may not be able to win over enough votes to get a nod. Many have forgiven but not forgotten the stunt she pulled in 2008.

The L.A. Times reports that she will return to the hit medical drama on ABC next season.
