Heroes Coming to a Video Game Store and Book Store Near You
It was announced on Thursday that a video game and a graphic novel series based on the hit NBC series "Heroes" is in the works.
Game maker Ubisoft, which also made a video game adaptation of Peter Jackson's remake of "King Kong," is developing the "Heroes" game for the PC and video game console systems. The game could be ready as soon as late 2008.
"From day one we've all been thinking about the game," Heroes co-executive producer Jesse Alexander told the Hollywood Reporter. "All along we've been writing some of our stories in ways they can tie into the eventual video game."
It has also been confirmed that a hardbound collection of graphic novels will be published by DC Comics under the WildStorm imprint. The novels are slated to hit bookstore shelves this fall.
Finally, NBC plans to launch a six-episode spinoff of the series called "Heroes: Origin" in 2008. Viewers will also be able to vote online for a new hero to become a regular character on the original series.
"Heroes" recently has been nominated for an Emmy for an Outstanding Drama Series. Masi Oka also got a supporting actor nomination for his work on the show.
