He's no Clay, but Ruben is still a winner.
The singer was awarded $2 mil in a suit against his former manager.
Once again, Ruben Studdard is a winner.
The season Twp winner of American Idol was awarded $2 million for personal losses and damages in a lawsuit filed against his former manager.
Studdard claimed that Ronald W. Edwards and his company misused Studdard's personal money and credit cards. The suit against Edward's company, Sez Inc., was dropped, as the company has gone bankrupt.
Apparently, despite his record sales, Edwards' misuse of Studdard's funds ruined the singer's credit to the point that he could not buy a house. Edwards even used Studdard's money to pay off his own $10,000 bank loan.
Studdard's sophomore album, "Return of the Velvet Teddy Bear," is scheduled for an August release.
