Johnny Depp made a surprise appearance and some upcoming 3-D movies are generating buzz.

Johnny Depp surprised fans at Comic-Con International in San Diego, California on Thursday, the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Tim Burton was speaking to an audience about his upcoming movie "Alice in Wonderland" when he asked if the crowd would like to meet the "imaginary friend" who follows him around.

Depp then walked on stage, prompting cheers and applause from the audience.

Depp, who plays the Mad Hatter in Burton's film said, "Hey. Happy to be here," before waving and walking backstage.

According to Actress Archives, the "Alice in Wonderland" trailer was revealed at Comic-Con. It was played three times. The crowd reportedly went wild for both the trailer and Depp himself.

James Cameron's "Avatar" was another big hit at Comic-Con.

The director screened 25 minutes of the highly anticipated film, Entertainment Weekly reports. He also announced that on August 21, Twentieth Century Fox will try to use as many 3-D and IMAX theaters as they can to show 15 minutes of "Avatar" for free.Alice In Wonderland Special Presentation At The San Diego Comic Con In CA
