Hilary Duff Got Married!
The summer of love continues. Actress, singer and entrepreneur Hilary Duff married her boyfriend Mike Comrie this weekend.
On Saturday, August 14, Duff and Comrie, a hockey player for the Edmonton Oilers, got married in California. UsMagazine.com reported the couple exchanged vows at a Montecito mansion in a sunset ceremony.
Duff was married in front of 100 guests in a Vera Wang gown. Her mother walked her down the aisle and her sister, Haylie Duff, served as her maid of honor.
In February, Comrie popped the question while the couple was on vacation in Hawaii. At the time, a rep for Duff said, “After having been together for over two years, they are very excited to share this happy news. They are thankful for all of your warm wishes.”
Comrie told Hockey Night in Canada how the two met at an Idaho resort. “We were all on the same plane and it was kind of, I guess, maybe a bit of a fluke,” Comrie said. “It [was] one of those things where we were all in a group ... we spent the weekend all hanging out.”
Last year, Duff told Us Magazine how much she adored Comrie. “[Comrie's] a great guy. I've never met anyone who could say a bad word about him. He's generous, caring, funny. We just laugh our heads off, which I need in my life,” Duff said. “He's unique. I wouldn't want to be with someone who wasn't unique.”
Duff has had luck not only in love, but in her career as well. Recently, she received a “Scene Stealer” Teen Choice Award for her role on the CW hit Gossip Girl. On the show, she played Olivia Burke, an on-screen actress making the transition into normal life as a New York University college student.
Congrats to Duff on her marriage and all her success.
