Hilary Duff Opens Up

With all the news lately about Nicole Richie's pregnancy with rocker Joel Madden, no one stops to think about Madden's ex, Hilary Duff. But the teen star opened up about the Hollywood dating scene on Ryan Seacrest's radio show.

Seacrest asked Duff how she felt when Madden "went back into another relationship with somebody that is famous."

She replied, "When you break up with someone, you have to deal with the fact that you are going to see them with someone else. It affected me, of course." Duff also said there is no way to prepare for seeing your ex with a new girlfriend.

As for a new love, Duff told Seacrest, "I haven't met someone that really excites me. I would rather be alone and learn about myself. It has not been the easiest thing to do, but it has been the thing that has made me feel like a really independent girl. I would love to have a great boyfriend, but right now is not the time and I can work and whatever."
