Hilary Duff Signed a Prenup
The New York Post’s Page Six reports that newlyweds Hilary Duff and Mike Comrie signed a prenuptial agreement before getting married last weekend.
According to Page Six, Comrie may have wanted the prenup more than his Disney star wife did. Indeed, Comrie's dad is the founder of a Canadian appliance and furniture empire, worth an estimated $500 million.
However, one insider claims, "It was a totally amicable agreement. They love each other very much and knew this was just a technicality.”
Duff, 22, and Comrie, 29, began seeing each other in July 2007 after meeting at an Idaho resort. While dating, Comrie spared no expense, showering his girlfriend with gifts. For Duff's 20th birthday, he surprised her with a $100,000 Mercedes G-class SUV.
When Comrie popped the question back in February, it was reportedly with a $1 million engagement ring.
As for the wedding, the Saturday ceremony cost “well over half a million dollars," a source estimated.
Despite his money, Duff told UsMagazine.com they have a surprisingly "natural" relationship.
"We both have busy jobs, and we're both very focused people, so that helps," Duff said.
Prenup aside, Duff is certainly living a "Cinderella Story."
