Zimmer expressed her concerns for the safety of the public and the quality of life. She has warned MTV and 459 Productions that there would be zero tolerance for any unauthorized filming.

"We want it to be a dynamic place to have fun, but we don’t want people coming and destroying the city. We are a mile square city with bars and restaurants mixed in with residential areas and you'd have people coming from out of town, creating a lot of noise for residents and other potential public safety issues. I have to look out for quality of life," said Zimmer quoted by Metro.

The Hoboken Local Film Commission also sent a letter expressing concerns over onlookers and people lingering in streets, following around the cast and crew.

The production company would be able to appeal the decision made by The Hoboken Local Film Commission, but it is unknown at this time if they will.

This spinoff was announced in April of 2011, in addition to a reality show that would follow around Pauly D and his career as a DJ.

The Huffington Post reports that MTV has released a statement saying, "Always inseparable and ready to get the party started at the shore, viewers will get to see how they deal with life and love when the vacation is over in this 12-episode series. The locale may be different, but the friendship is sure to remain the same."

MTV has also considered Jersey City as a possible locatiion.
