Hoffman Makes Move to Australia

Philip Seymour Hoffman to direct Australian play

Andrew Upton, Kate Blanchett's playwright husband, has written a play that will now be directed by Academy Award winner Philip Seymour Hoffman. The Capote star will move to Australia and sent up his new home in Sydney while directing the play for the Sydney Theatre Company in the next year. The actor and playwright are holding back as much detail about the collaboration as possible. Hoffman has been seen at the Brooklyn Academy of Music in New York City for the production of Hedda Gabler, a joint project by Blanchett and Upton. Hoffman says, "We're in talks with Andrew Upton and that theatre company and hopefully it's going to happen. Well, I'd rather not get into that as of now, just out of respect for them. I'd rather have them announce it."
