First-class seats have been booked to Australia this week as guests arrive for the wedding ceremony between country singer Keith Urban and actress Nicole Kidman. The twosome plan to have their wedding in a Roman Catholic church in Sydney and luckily, since many of us (including the Catholic priests) view Scientology as a story of fiction rather than a real religion, Kidman was able to get her 10-year union to Tom Cruise annulled.
However, a prenuptial agreement between Kidman and Urban is oh-so-real as they both agreeably signed the papers stating Urban would gain $350,000 for every year he remains with the actress. With Urban's history of drug and alcohol abuse, there is a "get-out clause," which means that the settlement becomes null and void if he returns to his drug using/alcohol drinking ways. Hmm... I wonder how well that is going to pan out?? Rule of thumb, never tell a recovering addict or alcoholic that they are not allowed to EVER drink/use again. Without getting into a detailed explanation, you're just going to have to trust me on this one.
At any rate, Urban had no problem signing a pre-nup and he said he'd do whatever would make Kidman happy.
In other news, with only half a season left to go, "The Sopranos" stars' Steven Van Zandt and Tony Sirico AKA Paulie and Silvio are demanding $200,000 an episode from HBO, which is more than double their previous salaries per show. Bada-bing-bang-boom! Come January, I guess we now know who will be the first to get whacked in the next "Sopranos" episode.
Speaking of gangsters, the best one-man, "good-guy" gang-banger who uses his powers to fight crime is Superman and coming this weekend, "Superman Returns." Following a long, mysterious absence from earth, Superman (played by newbie Brandon Routh) comes back to find that everyone has learned to survive without him, including Lois Lane (played by Kate Bosworth.) In an attempt to rekindle his love with Lane as well as rediscover where he fits in society, Superman faces a whole slew of new challenges.
